Get to Know Chef Stephanie Santos!


Chef Stephanie is Craft’s Director of Operations at the Reid Park Zoo in Tucson. Not only is Stephanie an incredibly talented chef, but she is also a fantastic manager and has transformed the food and beverage experience at Reid Park Zoo. Check out the interview below to learn a bit about Stephanie:


Background & Experience:

I am from Rio Rico, Az, but spent most summers in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico where my family is from. I went to The Art Institute of Tucson where I obtained my Associate of Science: Culinary Arts. I have worked in a wide range of kitchens including hotels, fine dining, country clubs and health care.


What do you enjoy most about working for Craft? What sets Craft apart from other companies?

I enjoy the community within the craft team and all the special events we do. There’s always something new and exciting going on!


What sets craft apart is that they care for the team as a whole and as individuals—you don’t feel like another number. They also encourage individual growth and success.


What is something about you that most people may not know?

I love playing golf with my Fiancée, Chris and we are getting married in October!


Who is a woman that inspires you, and why?

My mother is a major inspiration to me. She is kind, she is patient, understanding, smart, and hardworking. She has always been there to support me.

Do you have any advice for young women starting out in their careers?

Just go for it! You already have what it takes, believe in yourself!
