Although our emphasis has, from the beginning, been to align our business with sustainable practices and local purchasing, our business partnership with Arizona Sonora Desert Museum beginning in September 2016 encouraged us to work even harder at increasing our commitment to responsible purchasing. As business partners we believed it was imperative to align with Arizona Sonora Desert Museum’s mission to inspire people to live in harmony with the natural world by fostering love, appreciation, and understanding.
The Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch program advises hundreds of businesses through its partnership program, helping transform the marketplace in favor of environmentally responsible fisheries and aquaculture operations. Today, we’re proud to announce that we’re the newest Seafood Watch partner.
By working with the Seafood Watch Business Partner team, Craft Culinary Concepts will receive guidance on sustainable seafood selections to ensure exceptional quality while maintaining a commitment to the health of our oceans.
Seafood Watch empowers consumers and businesses to make choices for healthy oceans. Using science-based, peer reviewed methods, Seafood Watch assesses how wild-caught and farmed seafood affect the environment and provides recommendations indicating which items are “Best Choices,” “Good Alternatives,” and which ones to “Avoid.” As a Seafood Watch business partner, we pledge to serve only seafood rated a “Best Choice” or “Good Alternative” and to educate you – our customers – and suppliers about sustainability issues.
